The first performance of America: A Prophecy (2024 version) was given by Gewandhausorchester Leipzig with Kelley O’Connor (mezzo-soprano), conducted by Andris Nelsons, at Gewandhaus zu Leipzig on 19 and 20 December 2024.

America: A Prophecy (1999 version) was commissioned as a ‘Message for the Millenium’ by the New York Philharmonic with generous support from the Francis Goelet Fund.

The first performance of the original version was given by the New York Philharmonic, with Beth Clayton, conducted by Kurt Masur, in the Avery Fisher Hall, New York, USA on 11 November 1999.
